Swedish Teachers against Tobacco

WE ARE Swedish Teachers against Tobacco is an occupational association whose aim is to make people cut down on the use of tobacco. In Sweden, there are five more occupational associations against tobacco: doctors, dental service workers, nurses, pharmacy workers, and psychologists.

WE WANT Swedish Teachers against Tobacco want to help you work for the prevention of tobacco. We want to increase knowledge and we want to influence attitudes among teachers. Our goal and purpose is the backing up of individual teachers, the other school staff, and entire schools so that fewer and fewer young people start smoking and using moist snuff.

WE OFFER
o Information, new knowledge, and new data on tobacco matters.
o A magazine called Tobak eller hälsa (Tobacco or health) which is published four times a year. It is about tobacco preventive work in Sweden and abroad. You will there learn about other people´s experiences and you will get new scientific data.
o Further training.
o Contacts with local representatives from the other occupational associations. They will help you with parentteacher meetings, training sessions, or lessons.

A teacher serves as an important model. At school we can transfer knowledge and give support to our young so that they may choose life without tobacco. It is possible to exert an influence! We are working for a tobacco-free young generation, and we need you.
